The 16th Oran Westauto Motor Show took place from December 7 to 17, 2016 in Algeria. BAIC showed up with its key models along with big names like Renault, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Nissan, drawing close attention from local customers for its rich lineup and remarkable product image.

 On the media day (December 7), BAIC launched all-new X25 MT/AT versions, put on display key models such as B40L, X55, X65 and D20, and announced the promotion prices, warranty policy and inventory information of the newly-launched models during the motor show, attracting some 22 renowned local media outlets. Also, BAIC announced the plan to build an assembly plant in Batna Province in 2017 to lay a solid foundation for future production and after-sales service. The Director of the Department of Enterprise Development and Investment, Ministry of Industry and Mines of Algeria visited BAIC’s booth. He spoke highly of BAIC’s presence and expected BAIC to drive the development of the local auto industry.

The motor show was the first of its kind in Algeria after it reopened its vehicle import market. BAIC launched its Algeria-specific X25 MT/AT versions with the standard function of cruise control and unveiled its strategy for building an assembly plant in Algeria in 2017 during the motor show, attracting attention from the government, the media and the public, so as to enhance its overall brand image and orientation in Algeria. BAIC that has persisted in localized adaptive development and international operations will deliver convenient and all-round products and services to more consumers in Algeria and North Africa in the future.
